Robertta
Burns was appointed County Executive Officer (CEO) on June 24, 2003.
She has over 30 years of experience.
As CEO, she is committed to conducting the County's business in a
manner that promotes fiscal stability, service to business, visitors
and citizens while recognizing the expertise of county staff.
Like the CEO of a major corporation,
the County Executive is responsible to the Board of Supervisors for
the day-to-day administration of all County departments. The CEO has
direct responsibility for the preparation of the annual County budget,
as well as, administration of the Clerk of the Board of Supervisors,
airport, Information systems, labor relations, recommendation on state
and federal legislation, development and coordination of County
administrative operating procedures, identification and assistance to
departments in the pursuit of state and federal grant opportunities,
and conducting analyses of program operations as requested by the
Board of Supervisors. The County Executive provides staff support to
the Board and generally ensures that the Board's policy is carried
out.
